July 2023 Site News

It is July. That means summer break, cookouts, and of course it means we are in the middle of our two week Walt Disney World vacation! We have collected a lot of content which we look forward to sharing with you over the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, here are some quick site updates and sneak previews.

We Are Now On Instagram!

You can now find us on Instagram at, appropriately, busterandthebanshee. We haven’t decided exactly how we want to use it. For now, we just used it to post updates about our Walt Disney World Four Park Character Meet Challenge.

Speaking of which…

We Met 31 Characters In One Day!!

We successfully completed our Walt Disney World Four Park Character Meeting Challenge to benefit the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation by meeting 31 characters. This means we will be donating $3,100 to the Foundation. In addition, our friends and fans have kicked in another $500 so far (if you want to throw the Foundation a few bucks, you can go to our donation page).

We will be doing a more complete recap in the new future. Meanwhile, check out our Instagram page for pictures

WDW Parks Definitely Feel More Crowded

We normally travel during the late July – August timeframe; however, because of circumstances, we had to move our travel dates to last week of June / first week of July. As such, our trip coincides with the popular Fourth of July holiday. The crowd level definitely feels noticeably higher during this time period, but by getting an early start to our day and using the Disability Access Service, we have still been able to experience most of our favorite attractions so far. Navigating the parks with a wheelchair is certainly more difficult, but if you bring your patience, you’ll be fine.

Seaworld Orlando Was a HUGE Bust For Us

We decided to spend a day at Seaworld Orlando on this trip. We had high hopes based upon all of the positive things we have heard about it. However, the park was a complete bust for us. I know that many people have complained about how they feel like WDW has gone downhill in recent years…. about how the “magic is gone”. But when you visit a park like Seaworld, you realize how superior WDW is to pretty much every other theme park experience.

I don’t know if it is a staffing issue, or if Seaworld just doesn’t care. Either way, when you compare Seaworld to WDW on back to back visits, it is clear that Seaworld isn’t in the same league as Walt Disney World in terms of customer service “magic”.

This isn’t to say that Seaworld is a bad park, but it is just another theme park. There is nothing special about the experience.

That’s all the updates for now. See ya real soon!

AD:  We hope you enjoyed this post.  If you are coming to Central Florida and need a place to stay, please consider the Encore Magic Villa.  It sleeps up to 12 and features a game room, theater room, themed bedrooms, and private pool… located within a short drive of the Magic!
