A few weeks ago, we announced our Walt Disney World Four Character Meet Challenge to raise awareness and money for the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation. In this article, I am going to share some very exciting updates that we have with regards to our challenge.
We’ve Set a Date!
First, we have set a date for when we will be making our attempt at this challenge. That date is Friday June 30th 2023. We changed our Park Reservation to Epcot, where we will begin our challenge.
Our Donation Site Is UP!
Second, we have created a donation web site for the challenge, where you can learn more about Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and donate to the cause. To get things kicked off, Buster and the Banshee have pledged to donate $100 for each character that we meet during the challenge. Just to be clear
- 10 Characters = $1,000
- 15 Characters = $1,500
- 20 Characters = $2,000!!!!
Believe us, we aren’t going to sandbag our attempt now that money is coming out of our pockets. This is only going to motivate us to meet as many characters as possible!
Follow Our Progress On Instagram
Finally, we have created a busterandthebanshee Instagram page where you can follow along with all of our challenge day adventures. We plan to post pictures of our character meets (if it isn’t on social media, it didn’t happen), as well as other fun updates as we make our way through the four parks. We’d love it if you comment as we go. It will keep us motivated!
As the date gets closer, we will be finalizing our plans for our attempt. We are waiting to see if the character meet schedule changes between now and June 30th. They have already announced a new Pixar meet and greet in Pixar Place at Hollywood Studios, so we are excited to have even more opportunities to meet characters (and make money for the Foundation).
